Plot summary

Young Charles Dickens is suffering writers block and about to give it up forever to find a job and make a normal living. He is visited by four literary spirits who introduce him to some of the characters he is destined to create. His creations plead with him to give them an existence.

Stage settings

One set - Dickens's desk at the Wellington School - fantasy sequences may be as simple or elaborate as imagination and resources allow.
