Plot summary

This is a skit written for the six-line prompt "That's your line, though", which I am using to test the idea of remotely creating track-by-track recordings of plays.

Fred confides his insecurities about his (telemarketing) job to Rose, a fellow telemarketer, while in the boiler room. The Boss intercedes, and for better or worse, gives them inspiration.

Notes for the audio file "full skit: That_s_your_line__though_v3-vlq.mp3":

This recording was generated during the Covid19 pandemic by the Archipelago Virtual Theater. Individual performers voiced their parts separately, offline, and the tracks were edited together into a single performance. The process was iterated three times, ultimately allowing the actors to respond to cues from the other actors who were themselves responding to what other actors were saying.

Cast, in order of appearance:

  • Fred: Craig David Rosen
  • Rose: Tammy Strom
  • The Boss: Philip Hahn
  • Narrated by José Helú
