Background:

Calendar templates allow an area owner to pre-define a set of appointments, missing only the exact dates to which they apply. Instead, the dates are stored as an offset from a "base event", such as opening night, or the start of classes. This set of appointments can then be applied to any number of shows, classes, or events, by simply giving the actual base date, and selecting from the list of appointments to be created. Appointments created in this manner remain part of an appointment group, and can be edited en masse, as well as individually. It's a powerful way to instantly set up a schedule for events with similar needs.

Using templates requires an expertise level of "powerful" or greater, and editing rights to the area in question.

Templates should be created by the parent club of the club that will be using them. For example, a template for a rehearsal schedule would be created by a Venue, but then applied by each Show (under that Venue) that is using it to build their calendar. Because of this subtlety, creating templates for use by others requires an expertise level of "genius" or greater.
