Background:

Joining a fan club gives you access to special features, the specifics of which depend on the area in question. For example, a member of a Venue club will see that Venue's performances on their own personal calendar. A member of a Play club whose Author has activated the message board may post to it. Certain files in an Author's file library are only available to club members; this is one way for an Author to create their own virtual writing workshop and play reading.

To join (or resign from) a fan club, your expertise level must be "powerful" or greater. The area owner must also have activated that particular fan club; not all fan clubs are active.

As in most ePlays groups, you must apply for membership in the club, and then wait for the area owner to admit you. When applying, members enter a message to the club owner in the comment field. Unlike minionship, this is simply for communication, not for security. You may update your comment or withdraw their application by clicking the [update club membership] button. The next time you log in after you are admitted to the club, you will have access to the club's features, and you will see that club's selected appointments in your personal calendar.
